Wine Advocate 87 points - This excellent 2010 Zinfandel was made from a blend of 89% Zinfandel, 9% Petite Sirah and 2% Syrah, and was aged 10 months in primarily American oak and a small amount of French wood. This 80,000-case cuvee exhibits lovely strawberry and black cherry fruit notes intermixed with hints of pepper, spice box and a meaty/charcuterie aroma. It is an enticing, medium to full-bodied, dense, rustic Zinfandel to drink over the next several years. (Oct 2012)
Our family roots are firmly planted in Zinfandel. Grandpa Edoardo Seghesio planted Zinfandel on our Home Ranch in Alexander Valley in 1895. Today, we, his grandchildren, share his passion as we farm over 200 acres of estate Zinfandel in Alexander and Dry Creek Valleys. This wine originates from sites that have produced Zinfandel for over a century, as well as newer sites that utilize proprietary clones and the most advanced viticultural practices.
|Begun in 1895 by your great grandparents, Edoardo and Angela Seghesio, Seghesio Family Vineyards is a collection of sustainably farmed estate vineyards in Sonoma County, hand-tended by our family for four generations.|
